Volume changes during setting of thermoset resins
An article explaining the chemical shrinkage that occurs during the curing or crosslinking of thermoset resins, and the implications for zonal isolation. Read more
Thermoset resins: the importance of thermal properties for zonal isolation
When resin systems cure significant heat is liberated in a relatively short time which can led to a significant increase in temperature of the resin and surrounding material (casing, cement, rock).
This increase in temperature combined with the fact that the thermal expansion coefficient of thermoset resins is much higher (>4x) than that of steel or rock may lead to loss of zonal isolation. Read more

Geopolymers
Patent activity
Patent activity statistics from 1989 to 2019 related to geopolymers. There is a significant increase in activity from the mid 2000's corresponding to the search for construction materials with a lower CO2 footprint. Read more
